Book report on: Where the Fern Grows

I liked the book. This book is about a boy and 2 dogs hunting for coons.  The boy's name is billy and the dogs names were Little Ann and Old Dan. Little Ann is a girl and Old Dan is a boy. Billy got the dogs because he prayed to god and god helped him by giving him a idea. The idea was to earn enough money to buy the two hound dogs because each dog cost 25 dollars a piece! Which l guess is a lot of monney back then. Grandpa always wanted Billy to join the coon hunting and dog show contest because he wanted billy to have a trophy. He told his pa all about but his pa didn't really want him to join because it would take him away from all the chores on the farm, but Billy and his mom persuaded his pa to agree. Little Anne won second place with silver trophy. The second contest was harder because in the middle of the night they got lost in a blizzard. Both dogs ended up winning first place with a gold trophy. Billy went out one night with his dogs and Old Dan saw a mountain lion and got into a scuffle with the lion and got hurt pretty bad. Old Dan ended up dying from all the blood loss. After a day, Little Ann was very depressed and sad and refused to eat and ended up dying too. SO EVERYONE WAS SAD!! In between where they buried the two coon dogs they saw a red fern grow!

Update on on me

The bad news is I'm bored because all I get to do is sit in bed or sit in my wheelchair with my casts and leg braces on all day long. The cast feels like having on regular braces but a little better because it's softer. When my feet start hurting and get tingly and numb it isn't any better than regular braces. The good news is after two weeks (finally) I am playing iPad again!! Oh, and i can stand a lot straighter and bare weight easier (Thank God).

Oh more bad news, moms making me do schoolwork again...and blog!

Tendon Lengthening Surgery

This is the last weekend before l have surgery. The surgeons are going to cut my ankles, cut above the calf and cut my hips too. They are going to put me out before they do the surgery. After l recover from the surgery, l will have casts on my legs for 6 weeks and have to do intensive therapy for 3 weeks and that's not all, l have to do it for 3 times a day for 3 hours each time at the hospital! The purpose of the surgery is so that l can stand better and be able bare weight so my parents aren't killing their backs every time they lift me. Pray for me!

What is heaven? How powerful is god? (From my opinion)

OHeaven is like when the doctors put laughing gas on you when you have surgery but there is another feeling though... If you would've combined all of the fun things in the world and all of the surprising things, it would be having fun in Heaven! To me, l think of God like the king on a chess board but l couldn't stalemate him, check him nor checkmate him either!

Here are some pictures from Easter Sunday after church and breakfast

My 14th birthday

For my birthday, my parents bought me a go cart. The first time l saw the go cart it was a surprise because l thought that my parents were'nt going to buy it until when we had land. When my dad and me rode on the go cart, it scared me half to deaf because my dad drove it at the fastest speed most of the time that weve rode on it! The only problem about it, is that it's loud. You can hear it from our house all the way down the street to the mail box. O yea, about a week ago l drove the go cart by myself and I did good too! The only thing l messed up on, is that l didn't make a wide enough turn to turn around. The other suprise was sky diving. I thought that we were going to the jousting place (Medeval Times) When l herd that l had to relax, l thought that l couldn't do this. At first when l got in there l couldn't breath but when l got up to the top l was fine for the rest of the time. The funniest thing of the whole suprise is when Crazy Carol fell on her butt for both of her turns!

Derby race

Last Saturday, we went to a derby race because we couldn't go to power soccer. The derby race was pretty cool! One guy made a spin as he was turning! In one race, they let out some, well, to me lt looked like mini Smart Cars. The announcer said that those drivers were kids! I was kind of mad that we had to leave because of Caleryn but also, it was kinda chilli outside. I should've shared my hat. Anyway, l had a great time but the only person in the family who didn't like it was Caleryn.

Homeschool field trip #6

The day after the second power soccer tournament dad, mom, Caleryn and me went to two missions called, San Jose and San Juan. San Jose looked like a smaller Signagogue. I didn't learn much there because we didn't go over it at home beforehand, but we got to listen to a tour guide. All l learned there is that they carved all of the designs on the mission by hand! It was also home to a large number of Indians at first then monks. We tried to go into the church but they were having a funeral. Now, if we would've went to the Alamo to learn something new about it, it would've been more interesting. Now for San Juan, l learned that it was founded in 1731 by the Spanish Catholics of the Franciscan Order and l learned that it was named by Saint John of Capestrano. The mission was built out of mud and brush and was one of the smaller missions out of the 5 (including the Alamo). We saw behind the mission there was an aqueduct irrigation system which was used to supply water for the thousands of cattle and horses, sheep and goats that lived there. Both missions have churches that still have mass every week which I thought was pretty cool. On our way home we stopped in Luling, Tx for some of the best BBQ we've ever had. The place was smoky and not very comfortable for a power chair and high chair and we didn't even know how to order because you had to go to two differnt areas but the food was THE BEST BBQ...City Market BBQ!!
