My dad is the new mom

While I was away at Camp Blessings and having a blast and Caleryn was at Nanna and papas, my mom was having knee replacement surgery and was in pain. Once me and Caleryn got home, it was time for my dad to be mom for a few days. It was kind of funny to see my dad do what she does everyday! My dad wanted to go back to his work after a day of being secondary mom. Pretty much all we are eating is processed junk foods and HungryMan TV dinners since my mom can't cook anything! Sometimes he'll get us a gourmet meal from Chick–Fill–A. #imissmymomscooking! My dad mainly was annoyed by all of the demands from Caleryn and my mom and Chewy. Chewy seems to go crazy every time Caleryn is around and she starts jumping on mom's hurt leg. I don't think my dad was annoyed by me as much as them. It is also funny to watch my mom having to do physical therapy for her knee! I might act like I'm Jillian Michals when she does therapy. Anyway I hope this surgery will make at least one of her knees not hurt so bad and walk better too.

Camp Blessings 2016

This year for camp l had a blast! I was very honored to be in the coolest cabin of all, cabin 7b, and I had an awesome buddy named Eric too. The other councilors are: Camden, Dylan, Jacob, Jason and Kyle.  But my favorites were: Dylan, Jacob, Jason, Eric, Logan, Jonas and Kitty Purry.  The cabin leaders were Brick and Iz, which are pretty cool guys. Food wise, the food was pretty good but I probably should have brought my boosts from home because I wasn't eating to my full potential. Speaking of which, Dylan was eating like he was starving all his life! I soon nicknamed him as the Hogg. Maybe we'll be food friends. I think Jason liked me just because of my smile. One time when it was our cabin's turn to pray during the cross carry, I actually prayed out loud! Which l do not like doing at all! After the cabin was done praying, Jason then said that he was almost choked up when he heard me pray! Anyway for the talent show l danced to the song "Paradise City" with Kitty Purry and Eric. Afterwards, the whole cabin danced to "Free Birds". Now if I could talk, I would so do a little comic show or maybe a lip sync to a rock song. I like going to camp because it's kinda nice getting away from all of the commotion in the house. I also like seeing my friends and doing all the activities there.

The Fourth of July party/The Fireworks

On the Fourth of July, one of my friends from power soccer, Kirsten, invited me to a pool party. At 6pm my family got to her house and there was a lot of people there, including Steven and Alley. Some of the people there were excited that I was able to come. I couldn't go swimming because my mom and dad aren't comfortable with my new floaty yet. After Kirsten got out of the pool and dried off, she gave me tour of her house; next, she pulled out her laptop and gave me a glimpse of Minecraft. Im glad that she took the time to show me, it's actually pretty cool because you have to be really creative to build things. My dad has been watching videos on it to help me get started soon.  Once I start playing Minecraft, l think I'm going to act like the 1988 spaceship guy on the Lego movie because he's constantly trying to build a spaceship but nobody lets him finish until the end of the movie. I digress. After we left her house, we went to find a spot to go see the fireworks in The Woodlands. The fireworks this year was really weak. It only lasted for about ten minutes and there was no grand finally either! I bet the people who parked closer to it were super mad because they had to sit in traffic forever. We later found out that the firemen had to call it off because it was way too windy and it could of been dangerous. They ctually had to stop the one on lake Conroe too because it was starting grass fires. Oh well, maybe next year will be better. Anyway over all the night was pretty cool!

Caleryn's 3rd birthday party

This previous weekend Caleryn had her third birthday party. My mom and dad bought her a playhouse with a sandbox and of course my dad built it at the last second. While he was building that, Nanna and Papa took her to the park to play around. Which l should've gone with them because they had ice cream. Instead I played iPad. Later that night after the Hogg/Tazmanian Devil (Caleryn) went to sleep, my dad started working on the present that Nanna and Papa bought. It was a hot pink sports car; after my dad was done building it l wanted to see if I could fit my fat butt in it but I didn't. Some day I will get into it though. The next day in the afternoon my dad finished up the playhouse and the sandbox. When Caleryn first played with it she wasn't too interested in the sandbox but she liked the playhouse though. I didn't really like my sandbox when I was her age because of the texture of it, so I only got in it once or twice and that's when my mom and dad made me! Anyway Caleryn had to wait until 6pm when her friend Sabrina came over to see the rest of her presents because mother dearest said so. Now, is that mean or what! By the time that Sabrina and her parents got to our house, my mom was done with the cup cakes and I tell you what, yan can cook! Afterwards, Caleryn and Sabrina played together and it was kinda funny because Sabrina was playing so good and then there would be a huge bossy roar from Caleryn saying," Get in my room." My parents are hoping that she won't become a bully. While they were playing around, all of the adults talked a lot, especially Sabrina's dad. Anyway I think Caleryn enjoyed her birthday party and probably Sabrina did too.

P.S I call my sister a hogg because it's easier to say, rather than Caleryn. And yes, I know that I'm lazy!

Caleryn's dog, Chuy

UWhen Boots died, my mom was crying practically every other day; so me and my dad made the executive decision to buy another dog because during that time, I think both of us were the HoH. After three weeks of looking for a new dog, we found a yorkie for sale online in Houston, so my dad drove us to the place to pick up the dog. When we got there my mom didn't know that there was two of them. She was kinda bummed because she didn't want to separate them and they were brother and sister too. We picked the girl instead of the boy because the boy looked a lot like Boots and we kind of wanted something different. The girl looked like she had been starved a lot and she had a brownish goldish color fur. Later on that day, we decided to name the dog, Chuy.  Anyway, the first day she was okay. Chuy would whine every time either my mom or my dad left her but she did pretty good sleeping in the grate with my mom and dad. She has been having accidents in kitchen under the table when she comes back in from outside. Caleryn loves to play with her and carry her all over. She probably thinks Chuy has cerebral palsy because she never lets her walk on her own! My mom and dad are trying not to let her go in the rooms or get on the furniture but Caleryn keeps putting the dog on furniture so she's already getting used to jumping on chairs. I don't think that she is going to be the secondary protector like Boots was because my mom found a snake right outside the back door under my ramp and Chuy did nothing! She seems to be a fraidy-cat like Sandals used to be. But at least she's getting a taste for our food falling on the ground, so maybe she'll clean up the floor like Boots used to do. Caleryn is definitely entertained by her! Mom and dad just took her to the vet and found out she's not a full blooded yorkie (my mom already guessed that) but she's a dahtshund/yorkie mix. So she's called a dorkie!!! 🐢

The Boston Concert

Last night, my dad and I went to see Boston in concert for his Father's Day gift. This was my first real concert, although I've seen Chris Tomlin but it was really small at a church. It was pretty loud but amazingly my ears didn't ring, even when I went to sleep! Maybe, all of the times that my public school had fire drills, my ears got used to the loud noise! My dad said that his ears were ringing after we left. The next concert we're going to see is Guns and Roses in August! It's probably going to be a madhouse because the concert is going to be at NRG Stadium and the singer will probably dance more too, plus I think it will be really crazy because they haven't had a concert in forever.

The Strike Force Chair is Awesome!!! πŸ˜œπŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸŽ‰πŸŽπŸŽ―πŸ’ΊπŸ’΅♿️

The first time I practice in my new Strike Force chair, l SUCKED at driving it. I looked like l was a drunk driver because when I drove forward the chair constantly swerved left and right! But soon after practicing in it for a few days. l was sorta better at controlling it. When I first got the chair, we ordered a seat that was meant for a big guy in a little chair, like a huge man in a little chair!! I would sit on one side of the chair so that I could reach the controller. It was kinda funny looking! So we had to get them to send another seat that would fit me better.

On Wednesday, my dad took a vacation day and we drove to Burton, Tx for a powersoccer exhibition at the summer camp for kids with muscular dystrophy. It was the first time I got to really practice in the new chair. I didn't get a goal but I was really surprised that I didn't accidentally hit someone! Where we played was a pretty tight area I was always worried I might hit some legs. We got to play some of the dr.s from Texas Children's who were at the camp, but I didn't really recognize any of them. My fellow teammate Stephen gave me and my dad some really good tips and ideas to help control the chair a little better. He also told my dad how to program the chair without having to buy a programmer. There were a lot of different options that we could change. My dad tweaked it a little bit; he made the deadband for the joystick higher for my crazy/shaky arm and he bumped up the forward speed too. My dad probably needs to tweak it some more later on and test it out but he can't do that now because it keeps on raining! So far the new chair has helped a lot, especially doing spin kicks and maybe I'll get good at controlling the ball and the chair with more practice.
